The Roach Slim is all about achieving perfect presentation while offering minimal resistance to fish. The elongated, slim body shape of this float means that anglers can perfectly lower a bait into the swim, a deadly way of presenting a bait to fish like roach and skimmers. It also suits it to lifting and dropping, working a bait to entice bites.

This is a pattern designed for natural venues and more delicate fishing, when you need stable but finesse presentation. The body shape is a dumpy rugby-ball, which means the float will sit stable in any conditions and can be held-back in tow or in flow on rivers, canals and lakes. The bristle is thinner than that on the Skimmer floats, and made from fibreglass to be ultra-sensitive for silverfish species and shy biting fish.

This small float is designed for catching lots of small fish very quickly, either short-lining or on a whip fishing to hand, making them ideal for bleak fishing specifically. The short overall length of this pattern means that it cocks quickly, with the help of the wire stem, meaning you can see bites immediately if a fish takes the bait as it settles. The balance in the stem and bristle lengths reduce the chances of these flicking over to tangle.

The Skimmer floats have been one of the most popular in the Natural Range, in both our carbon and wire-stem versions. As usually though, with the floats becoming more popular, anglers have been asking and wishing for the same versatile body shape that works so well, but with a different bristle material in the way of a hollow plastic. Having this ‘hollow’ version in both the wire and carbon models of these floats opens the pattern up to use with even more baits, more angling conditions and in different situations.
