A range of bass lure fishing rods that have been designed for the angler who will be predominately fishing with surface lures. The fast action blank has been developed to cast surface lures to distance, with a high degree of accuracy. This fast blank allows the angler to transmit as much action as possible to the lure with less movements on the rod, especially when fishing with braided lines. Ideal for fishing with all types of surface action from walking the dog to more extreme popping motions.
A rod with lofty ambitions, it takes its name from the N70 Nebula, a luminous bubble of interstellar gas, a birthplace of powerful new stars. These massive formations of gas profoundly affect their environment, leaving their mark on the future for generations to come. A rod named after such an immense and powerful entity needs to be special, and it is.
Launcher – an extreme casting rod! This is the most powerful blank in the range, designed to cast heavy soft plastics, hard lures and metals. If you’re fishing in extreme conditions or need that extra power to cover more water, the Launcher is just the tool for the job.
Edge – as the name suggests, this is a rod that is perfect for working at short range with light lures. Whether you’re fishing in and around rocks, rock pools or flicking lures in a tree lined stream, this is the rod to go for. Perfect for on the drop style fishing and for flicking baits between boats and pontoons. The solid tip helps to increase bite detection, while the fish feels less resistance as it mouths a bait. This rod is tremendous fun, in the right circumstances.
Infinite – the rod with infinite light lure uses and exceptional bite detection, especially when you’re fishing for shy biting fish. The solid tip is fantastic for working jig heads and soft lures, giving you maximum bite detection and the fish no awareness of what’s going on. An exquisite rod whether you’re fishing for gobies or perch.
Control — this rod excels at casting accuracy and has insane bite detection! The tubular tip is a joy to watch as a fish homes in on a lure. This tip has been engineered to impart plenty of action into the lure with minimal effort, too. A great choice whether you’re fishing hard or metal lures or jig heads at longer range.
Versatile – when you need a rod that can do everything in the light game market, the versatile ticks that box. Capable of fishing with metals, pencil lures, top waters and jig heads. A capable rod that can be used for light tackle bass and wrasse fishing, as well as perch and zander.
Mainstream – a bass lure fishing rod designed to cast lighter lures to long distances. The extra length coupled with the rod’s natural recovery ensures that lures are cast accurately, especially handy when fishing around boulders and features. The extra length also helps to steer fish around obstacles when trying to land them.
Outer Limits – the perfect long-distance casting lure fishing rod that is highly accurate. The stiffer tip helps when fishing in windy conditions, especially on open surf beaches or exposed rock marks. The rod has plenty of power to land big fish in adverse conditions.

Inshore – the boat fishing lure rod that comes in a long tip, short butt configuration, which enhances the power curve of the rod. This is a crisp, responsive blank that has a slightly more progressive action than the other rods in the Tempest range. Primarily designed for working soft lures from a boat, it also lends itself to working metals as well. A powerful butt section helps to subdue hard fighting fish when fishing vertically, such as bass, pollack, and wrasse.
We’ve named each Tempest rod based on the type of fishing it’s suited for. Instead of aimless length and weight descriptions, we’ve given you an idea of what each rod is designed to do.
Designed for the travelling, ultra-light angler. It breaks down into 4 sections measuring 60 cm and comes with both a solid and a tubular tip. It is small enough to fit hand luggage, ideal for taking on holiday or to keep in the car. The ideal rod for the roving angler who is walking miles to their chosen water, it packs down neat enough to fit in a drink’s holder on a rucksack. It measures 6ft 11in (2.11 m) when assembled. Coming with two tip styles, this eliminates the need for the angler to take two different rods on holiday with them, the one rod can do it all.
