As you would expect from a high-end SHIMANO reel designed for finesse techniques, the Cardiff XR is fitted with a wide selection of the latest technologies. The lightweight CI4+ body has the G-FREE design for optimum balance when using ultra lightweight rods. Internally HAGANE Gear, X-SHIP, Micro Module II and Silent Drive combine to produce smooth efficient rotation, which is further enhanced by the latest low inertia MGL rotor for ultra lightweight rotation. This is a noticeable advantage when working small lures with precise control. In keeping with Aero Trout and Native Trout techniques, which often require the use of ultra-thin lines, the Cardiff XR has a special felt washer drag that inspires fish-playing confidence, especially when the fish is close to the net.
